Secure Text Messaging for Health Data |

Hospital Information Technology Europe covers SquareLoop's announcement of a secure text messaging solution that encrypts messages to meet Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) requirements. Under the HIPAA guidelines, patient information is not allowed to be transmitted unencrypted over public networks. The traditional SMS message infrastructure does not provide any encryption and therefore exposes hospitals and medical institutions to risk for non-compliance with HIPAA. (Click here to read)
